Modeling of oil spills taking into account the terrain

CJSC "AMT" provides services for the evaluation and prediction of oil spills on the land surface. The calculations are made by mathematical modeling with the help of program complex ArcGIS and optional module Intergis. Calculations are carried out in stages, taking into account the flow of liquid on the surface to achieve a local decrease, followed by its filling and further spreading. When performing the calculations, solved the hydrodynamic problem of the liquid spreading on a surface using the system of equations of diffusion and migration in a specified direction An integrated approach to modeling oil spills allows taking into account the characteristics of the substance (temperature, density, viscosity, etc.), environmental parameters (temperature and wind speed), the characteristics of the underlying surface (oil capacity of the soil, the rate of absorption). Initial data for modeling oil spills are digital terrain model, digital terrain model, space survey materials, and cartographic data.

Integrated modeling allows to perform calculations of oil spills from different types of infrastructure: point (eg, block valve station), linear (oil pipeline) and polygonal (eg, oil pump station).

The use of the additional module "oil spill (land)", developed by LLC " Innovation technology Solutions in the field of Geographic information Systems "(Introgis) , allows to adjust the digital terrain model taking into account the environment, such as buildings, buildings, embankments, sites and other various obstacles and artificial landforms. As a result of modeling, it is possible to determine potential effluents, accumulations, profiles on the relief. The simulation results can be displayed graphically and in the form of text reports, as well as in the form of animation-dynamic visualization of oil spills.
